Terms of Use
Using Duneed means agreeing to what follows. It is short on purpose; anything that reads like a trap is a bug, and you can write to us about it.
1. What Duneed is
Duneed reads a photo of a shopping receipt, turns it into a list of items, keeps that list as a pantry inventory with expiry reminders, and adds up what you spent. It runs on your phone; an account is optional and exists so the same pantry can appear on more than one device and be shared with the people you live with.
2. Reading a receipt is a guess, not a fact
This is the clause worth reading twice. Duneed uses an AI model to read the photo, and it will sometimes be wrong: a misread price, a merged line, the wrong category, a quantity that is off by one.
Expiry dates are estimates and nothing more. Almost no receipt prints them. Duneed guesses a shelf life from what the item appears to be, and that guess can be badly wrong. It is a nudge to check the fridge, not a food-safety judgement. Never decide whether something is safe to eat because of what this app says. Use the date on the packaging, and your own senses.
The same applies to money. Spending totals are built from what the model read, and a review screen exists so you can correct it before saving. They are a household view of where money went, not an accounting record, and they are not tax advice.
3. Your account
- You must be 16 or older to create one.
- Use a real email address — it is the only way to verify the account or recover it.
- Keep your password to yourself. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you.
- One person per account. Sharing a pantry is what households are for.
- Tell us at support@duneed.app if you think someone else is using your account.
4. Free and premium
Free gives you 3 receipt scans per calendar month (UTC) and a banner ad under two of the lists. Everything else — the pantry, expiry reminders, the shopping list, spending — works fully.
Premium gives you 30 scans per week, removes the ads, and lets you invite others into your household. It is sold as a monthly subscription, an annual subscription with a 7-day free trial, or a one-off lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in your own currency inside the app before you buy, and are adjusted by region.
Weekly means a calendar week that resets Monday at 00:00 UTC. Unused scans do not carry over.
Premium is personal, not per household: it unlocks the account that bought it. Inviting other people into your household does not make them premium, and does not cost you extra.
Billing, cancelling and refunds
Payment is taken by Apple or Google, not by us. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and you cancel in the App Store or Play Store account settings — not in Duneed, because we cannot do it for you. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the current period runs to its end.
Refunds are handled by the store you bought from, under its rules. If a trial is not cancelled before it ends, the store charges the first period.
If prices change, the new price applies from the next renewal after you have been told, and never retroactively.
5. Sharing a household
Everyone in a household sees the same pantry, shopping list, receipts and spending, and can change any of it. Invite only people you would hand the fridge to. When someone leaves, the copies they contributed stay with the household; what they keep on their own device stays theirs.
6. What you must not do
- Scan documents that are not your own receipts — anything containing other people's personal data has no business going through this app.
- Work around the scan limits: multiple accounts for one person, automated requests, forged device identifiers, or anything else aimed at the quota.
- Attack the service, or try to reach data that is not yours.
- Take the app apart to rebuild it as your own product, or resell access to it. Reading how it behaves in order to report a bug is fine and welcome.
- Use it where the law where you live says you may not.
7. Your data stays yours
Everything you put in — receipts, items, notes — belongs to you. You give us only the permission needed to run the service: to store it, to show it back to you and to the household you chose, and to send a receipt image once to the model that reads it. Nothing is used to train anything, nothing is sold, and nothing is published. The privacy policy is the detail.
You can export all of it, or delete all of it, from Settings, at any time and without asking us.
8. Availability
Duneed is offered as it is. There is no uptime promise, features can change, and the service could be discontinued. Because the app is local-first, your pantry keeps working on your phone whether or not the server is reachable — and if the service ever shuts down, you will be told in advance and given time to export.
9. Ending it
You can stop at any moment: delete the account in Settings, or just delete the app. We may suspend or close an account that breaks section 6, or that we are legally required to close. Where it is reasonable to warn you first, we will.
10. Liability
To the extent the law allows, Duneed is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost data where you had the means to export it, or for decisions taken on the strength of a misread receipt or a guessed expiry date — see section 2.
Nothing here removes a right you have that cannot be removed by agreement. If you are a consumer in the European Union, the United Kingdom or Türkiye, your statutory consumer rights apply in full whatever this document says.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Türkiye, and the courts of Türkiye have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in, or of your right to bring a claim there.
12. Changes
When these terms change, the date at the top changes. A change that matters — pricing, what you are allowed to do, how disputes are handled — is announced in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Duneed after that is how you accept it; if you would rather not, delete the account.
